OVERVIEW
Shapeshifting: Foundations, Flow & Flight is a progressive workshop series designed to help your yoga practice evolve with awareness and insight. Across four sessions, we’ll explore inversions, mobility, and flow, discovering how strength, flexibility, and intention combine to create smoother transitions, greater confidence, and a more enjoyable, embodied way of moving on the mat. Expect clear drills, intelligent progressions, and practical tools that demystify challenging moments in yoga classes and open up new possibilities in your practice. Workshops include the use of props, optional partner work, and a strong emphasis on safe entries and exits, thoughtful modification, and building confidence through clarity rather than force.

Inversions & Arm Balances I: Root & Rise
This workshop focuses on Tripod Headstand and Crow Pose, with an emphasis on safe setup, confidence-building, and understanding how to go upside down without fear. You’ll learn how to bail safely, how to use props intelligently, and where to build arm strength within your regular yoga practice.
If you’re already feeling confident in Crow and Headstand, we’ll explore more advanced Crow variations (such as Side Crow and One-Legged Crow), alongside Koundinyasana variations and Headstand variations, with clear options and progressions throughout.

Mobility & Movement: Space & Spirals
This session offers a focused exploration of backbends, twists, hip mobility, and shoulder mobility, and how these directly support stronger flow and inversions. You’ll work with backbending shapes (such as Camel Pose,Bridge Pose, and Upward Facing Bow Pose) and twisting patterns (including Marichyasana and Twisted Side Angle), as well as how binds and props can be used to deepen twists safely.
The emphasis is on active mobility and strength through range, using props and targeted drills to create usable space that feeds back into your everyday yoga practice.

Flow Foundations: Strength in Motion
This strength-led workshop explores how yoga flow actually works. You’ll break down Surya Namaskar A & B (Sun Salutation A & B) — includingJump-Throughs and Float-Backs — to understand how strength, breath, and timing support smooth, sustainable transitions.
You’ll explore how Downward-Facing Dog can be used as an entry point to Handstands and Step-Throughs, and how these blend into the Suryas. These apparent “warm-up” sequences often pass by quickly in class, yet contain a depth of strength and flexibility conditioning. We’ll slow them down to build clarity and control.
You’ll also explore other common transitions, such as Warrior III opening into Half Moon (Ardha Chandrasana), focusing on how to enter and exit these shapes with control, clarity, and intelligent use of props.
